Family is one of Code Red’s main core values and our time spent together is never wasted. This summer, we gathered at Kimball Farm in Westford for a tented BBQ and little something for everyone in the family from Mini Golf to Bean Bag Toss to Bumper Cars!

This year marked Baystate Children’s Hospital 31st annual golf tournament. Code Red Consultants was happy to sponsor their fundraising event by having James McLaughlin, Jason Hopkins, Zach Blanchard, and Jake Smith play a round “fore” a great cause. Great weather provided a fantastic day on the course filled with camaraderie. This tournament helps make a difference in the lives of the youngest patients at Baystate Children’s Hospital.  These differences come in many shapes and sizes; helping advance research in pediatric health, purchase kid-sized equipment, and create friendlier experiences for the children who pass through Baystate Children’s Hospital each day. We look forward to continuing to sponsor this event!

The team at Code Red continued their annual tradition of ensuring Boston’s marathoners stay hydrated by volunteering at the mile marker 3 hydration station for the 127th running of the Boston Marathon. This event is always fun, involves team building and is a way we give back to the community.

March brought us together at Code Red Headquarters for our annual St Patrick’s Day Trivia event. Our extraordinary host, James McLaughlin, led us on a captivating journey through a wide range of topics from animated TV shows to everything green. The atmosphere was on fire (pun intended) as teams competed head-to-head, with the tension building until the very end. The ultimate victors emerged after a thrilling tie breaker question. How tall is the Statue of Liberty anyways?

CHILI: a spicy dish of meat, onions, chilies or chili powder, and usually beans.

Used in a sentence:

His/Her favorite food is chili.

I’ve made a chili for tonight.

The staff at Code Red Consultants know how to keep warm on cold winter days. We keep it hot by holding our Annual Chili Cook Off in February. This all-inclusive contest included submissions ranging from a standard chili to chicken chili to vegan chili. It’s always fun to try new things and exchange recipes.

The winner of this year’s highly prestigious award of the Code Red Consultants Apron goes to James McLaughlin. James is an Associate Principal, Senior Project Manager in the firm specializing in Construction Fire Safety services. Not only is he a valued member of our team, but he is an excellent cook too!

The back-drop for the 2022 Code Red Consultants Holiday celebration was the rustic, yet elegant, Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton, MA. With 9 strong years in the fire and life safety industry, we have much to be thankful for and much to celebrate. We spent the evening enjoying a fine meal, festive music, and making memories with the amazing team at Code Red.

At Code Red Consultants, we believe hygiene, and keeping a professional appearance is important… especially during “No-Shave November”! But things did get a little hairy when our team set out to raise awareness on Men’s Health issues, such as Prostate Cancer, by putting down the razors. While some couldn’t “bare” the thought of a beard, others enjoyed the friendly office competition. The more days that passed, the more funds were raised. At the end of the month, we were able to meet our financial goal!

The team at Code Red takes pride in and enjoys the work that we do! We also enjoy a little fun, whether it be for the sake of a good time or for a good cause!

  • In June, we celebrated summer with our families and took in a Woo Sox game from the Hanover Deck at Polar Park.

  • In August, we gave back to our local community and participated in a Habitat for Humanity build alongside our industry colleagues from the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA).

  • In September, we ditched our cell phones and sought adventure white water rafting our way down the Deerfield River.

  • And in October, instead of donning your traditional fall colors, Code Red dressed in PINK all month-long raising breast cancer awareness and funds towards a cure.

As part of our culture, Code Red is always looking for new ways to play and connect. With the amount of focus that “working” often requires, it’s easy to forget to hit pause and take time to play or learn something new.

In the spirit of play, we took to the slopes at Nashoba Valley for some snow tubing, tapped into our “inner child” by participating in National Tie-Dye Day, and organized a pub-style trivia night at Code Red headquarters. As we strived to connect and give back, Code Red volunteered at the Boston Marathon’s 3.4 Mile Hydration Station. We’re also proud to share that more than half of our office became CPR and AED Certified in the spring.

Changing up our routine keeps our team energized and increases pathways to communication. Plus, when you pepper in a friendly competition as this group often does, our time together is always well spent.

Code Red Consultants had a very busy year in 2021.  We celebrated our EIGHTH year in business and added EIGHT new team members.

“You do your best work if you do a job that makes you happy.” ~ Bob Ross

Code Red not only worked hard in 2021, but we also saw the return of some traditions and added a few new ones to have fun, strengthen the team, and give back to the community.  In October, the return of the Boston Marathon brought us together at mile marker 3, where we volunteered at the BAA hydration station. October also brought the cooler weather and our creativeness shone during the annual Halloween costume contest. There was a wide variety of characters in the office that day, ranging from Hulk Hogan, Anna from Arundel, Jeff Hanson from Slapshot, Teen Wolf, Rocky, Woody from Toy Story, and Sloth from The Goonies!! In November, we gave back to the community by collecting non-perishable food items for the Veterans’ Inc. shelter in Worcester. To round out the year, we were able to come together in December to celebrate everything that was 2021 at our annual holiday gathering at Nuovo Restaurant in Worcester. It was a much-needed familiar event that afforded a night of laughter, conversations, and of course great food.

Happy New Year from all of us at Code Red; wishing you a safe, healthy and prosperous 2022!
