University of Arkansas Proton Center
The University of Arkansas Radiation Oncology and Proton Therapy Center was developed to advance cancer research and deliver cutting-edge treatment for both pediatric and adult patients, marking the first proton therapy facility in the state of Arkansas. The project included construction of a new two-story building with a penthouse level, housing highly specialized treatment and imaging spaces, including a proton therapy vault, linear accelerator, high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and CT imaging.
Code Red Consultants provided fire protection and life safety code consulting services for the project, with primary responsibility for the development of a comprehensive Code Report. Our team worked closely with the design team at DLR Group (formerly Tsoi Kobus Design) to address the complex code and life safety requirements associated with highly specialized medical spaces, supporting a safe and compliant design for the facility
