The Smith, The South End’s Newest Residence
The Smith is the newest apartment community in Boston’s South End. The complex is a 650,000 SF mixed-used development consisting of 650 multi-family residential units in two-11 story residential towers. The first tower was occupied this summer. This phase includes 11-stories, below grade parking and boosts multiple tenant amenities, including green space at the ground floor courtyard as well as a rooftop pool.
Code Red Consultants teamed with CBT Architects and Leggat McCall Properties to provide fire protection and life safety consulting services as part of the design and construction of the new residential tower. Our construction services included the development of a NFPA 241 Construction Fire Safety Plan and responsibility for performing smoke control special inspections of the building’s pressurized stairs.
