Balfour Louisville Senior Living in Louisville, Colorado is an 8,074-square-foot assisted living renovation designed to enhance care and support for residents with memory-related needs. The project involved an interior renovation of the first floor of an existing building, converting a skilled nursing unit into an assisted living wing with 16 memory care units. Key elements of the scope included the addition of a new common area bathroom, installation of new door locking devices, reconfiguration of the existing warming kitchen, and a complete fire alarm system replacement to support the updated layout and level of care.

Code Red Consultants served as the fire protection and life safety code consultant for the project, providing critical guidance throughout the design process. The team was responsible for developing a threshold report for an existing building code, which established the framework for compliance and informed key design decisions. In addition, Code Red Consultants coordinated closely with The Architectural Team to integrate major fire protection and life safety requirements into the renovation, helping ensure a code-compliant design that supports both resident safety and operational functionality.
