Assembly Row Block 8

The scope of the project included the construction of the Assembly Row Block 8 (Miscela at Assembly Row) mixed used residential and retail building at 485 Foley Street in Somerville, MA. The building is 24-stories and approximately 657,000 square feet, which includes ground level retail spaces, three stories of above grade vehicle and bike parking, and over 500 new apartments.

Code Red Consultants was engaged for construction administration services, which included the development of the residential complex including supporting NFPA 241, Construction Fire Safety Plan compliance and as the Third-Party Firestopping Special Inspector. To support the execution of the project, coordination was completed with the project team to complete third-party inspections for opening protectives in fire-rated wall and floor assemblies as the projects Firestopping Special Inspector. Additionally, Code Red worked with Federal Realty Investment Trust and Cranshaw Construction to develop a construction plan that met the requirements of NFPA 241, the expectations of the City of Somerville, and the construction methods of the contractor.

Construction administration-related assistance was provided on an as-needed basis to ensure that the projects remained on track to achieve the target occupancy dates and that compliance with NFPA 241 was maintained as the associated construction operations and hazards changed. The Building officially welcomed residents in September 2021.
