I love the outdoors, I have played soccer since I was 4, have backpacked over 300 miles, and was part of WPI’s Men’s Crew team.

Hunter is a fire protection and life safety consultant who excels in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. He brings a level of excellence and determination to Code Red Consultants with internship experience in the design of fire protection systems. With his background in designing sprinkler systems for various projects, his understanding of these systems allows him to exceed client expectations for life safety special inspections and field services. As a new hire, he is eager to advance his professional and personal growth in understanding building systems and working through complex problems.

I am an avid golfer and fisherman

Dylan is a fire protection and life safety consultant who enjoys the high-energy, collaborative culture at Code Red Consultants. His background in Architectural Engineering lends itself to the client design process allowing fluid communication with architects. Dylan’s consulting efforts mainly focus on residential projects and accessibility code analysis, but he doesn’t hesitate to jump into the multitude of other topics and services offered at Code Red Consultants. Dylan is excited to grow his knowledge and experience, learning from the diverse array of opportunities provided at Code Red Consultants.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Hands down client impact. There’s nothing more rewarding than listening to a client’s needs, developing a tailored package that custom fits those needs, and providing an experience that was so helpful to the client that not only do they want to bring you into the next project but they want to refer you to everyone they can, as to pass that experience on.

Kyle joins Code Red Consultants with a background in Architectural Engineering. He’s enthusiastic and prepared to rejoin our team full-time following his previous internship with Code Red Consultants. Kyle is a self-motivated, detail-oriented Life Safety Consultant who finds satisfaction in this field knowing he is providing building occupants with a safe environment in the event of an emergency. He enjoys working in the Fire Protection industry due to the need to approach projects differently depending on the type of project and location.

What do you love most about your job?

I enjoy interpreting and applying the various codes and standards to each project in ways that benefit the project’s progress. I constantly find ways to further my knowledge in the field of fire protection.

Kate is a life safety consultant who enjoys the fast-paced, team-oriented nature of the fire protection field. Working with various clients, she appreciates that no two projects are the same and enjoys exploring how codes, standards, and technology evolve. Kate utilizes her background in Chemical Engineering to provide code compliance strategies for the handling of chemicals and hazardous materials. As a young consultant, Kate looks forward to growing in her role and expanding her technical background through continued learning opportunities.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I appreciate following a project throughout its life cycle and watching how an idea evolves over time. After months of discussing code compliance strategies or developing life safety plans, it’s rewarding to see a building come to life during and post-construction.

Kevin thoroughly approaches each upcoming challenge with confidence and an eagerness to expand his skill set. He first joined the Code Red team as an intern, which enhanced his technical skills and fostered a mindset of continuous learning. This is essential in a field that requires staying up to date on evolving codes, standards, and technologies to ensure the highest level of compliance and safety for both individuals and properties. Kevin’s problem-solving ability and background in electrical engineering and fire alarm product design position him to make a dynamic impact at Code Red and the clients we serve. Kevin uses his eagerness to learn and contribute to drive innovative solutions and advancements in fire protection engineering. Kevin’s professional focus encompasses smoke control special inspections, fire alarm system design, and fire protection system design.

What is something that colleagues and clients might not know about you?

I ride a skateboard with one wheel. I go for rides at least twice a week (even in the winter).

Nick is a dedicated life safety consultant with a strong focus on helping clients achieve their project objectives. Nick leverages his background in construction management to identify problems and curate solutions though his own experiences and challenges within the industry. Nick takes advantage of all the life safety & consulting services Code Red Consultants offers, which includes construction life safety, smoke control special inspections, & NFPA 241 services. He looks forward to continuing his growth at Code Red and being a valuable resource to clients & colleagues.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Helping clients achieve their project goals through problem solving and critical thinking,

Matt is a fire protection and life safety consultant who excels in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment. He brings a unique perspective to Code Red Consultants with nearly 5 years of experience working in the construction industry as a site superintendent. Matts worked on a wide array of projects, ranging from condominium fit-outs to commercial lab buildings. His experience on such projects allows him to readily understand the construction process and provide insight on the many consulting & field services Code Red provides. He takes pride in his work and is passionate about exceeding client expectations. As a new consultant, Matt is eager to continue growing everyday through new challenges and experiences, both personally and professionally.

What is something that colleagues and clients might not know about you?

I love being outdoors any chance I get. Whether that’s hiking, camping, fishing, or just being a beach bum, I’m going jump at any of those opportunities!

Before joining Code Red Consultants, Brian worked at UMass Chan Medical School/UMass Memorial Medical Center for eight years. He spent his first four years in the Fire Safety Department, where he conducted inspection and testing on various fire safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, pre-action & dry sprinkler systems, fire pumps, fire alarm devices, elevator recalls, fire doors, and was involved in commissioning of new/renovated areas of buildings.

Subsequently, Brian then transitioned to the Occupational Safety and Environment of Care department at UMass, where he led the fire safety program at the UMass University Campus.  His responsibilities included ensuring regulatory compliance for Joint Commission, conducting over forty fire drill annually, coordinating Operating Room/Perioperative fire drills, and implementing a staff training program on fire extinguisher usage.

In addition to his work at UMass, Brian served as a member of the fire service for the towns of Auburn and Charlton for a total of eight years.

What is something that colleagues and clients might not know about you?

When I was 17, I played hockey for a Team USA Selects 18-and-under team and traveled to Hungary to compete against teams from around the world.

Sean Herman is a Life Safety Consultant with Code Red Consultants and has seven years of experience in the Fire Protection and Life Safety Consulting industry. His project work and management experience has spanned across the country from California to Massachusetts, working on a variety of project types and market sectors; most notably, primary education, higher education, high-rise office and residential buildings, and mixed-use buildings.

Sean is a strong team player and collaborator who is proactive with communication and project coordination. He enjoys taking on complex issues experienced during the design and construction process to develop safe and cost-effective solutions while maintaining the clients/ design team’s vision. Sean’s expertise includes building and fire code consulting, fire protection systems design and consulting, negotiation with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and utilizing CAD/BIM programs to develop and deliver a successful and efficient project.

What is something that colleagues and clients might not know about you?

I am always up for an adventure. Whether it’s off-roading or backpacking to a remote campsite, surfing at a local beach, skiing around the world, fishing at a secret spot, seeing live music, or hosting a cookout with friends and family, I love to create memories and push myself to experience new places and things.
