One Kendall Square Campus

Code Red Consultants (CRC) has provided code consulting services on the One Kendall Square Campus to direct to the Building Owner associated with laboratory chemical storage and use compliance. Starting in 2017, CRC performed an initial assessment of the 7-building campus to document and evaluate existing conditions and establish a master plan concept for compliance that the owner could utilize on future tenant fit out and renovation projects. Since that time, CRC has continued to provide support on a project-by-project basis to ensure that a consistent control area compliance approach in accordance with the Massachusetts State Building Code and Comprehensive Fire Code was implemented. The control area compliance strategy includes navigating challenges such as vertical openings and building connections with varying construction types. Most recently, Code Red Consultants provided support associated with obtaining flammable licenses with the City of Cambridge for two of the buildings on campus to support the evolving needs of the multi-tenant laboratory tenants. Additional work on campus includes the preparation of NFPA 241 Construction Fire Safety Plans as well as egress and accessibility consulting services.
